Default Wind Investments

As the world is seeks energy independence, the usage of renewable, sustainable energy resources has risen. The renewable energy can act as a principal or alternate source of power generation. It is a common source of energy in rural areas where transmission and distribution of other sources of energy can be expensive and even difficult.

The sources of renewable energy are present in the nature itself in the form of Sun, Wind and Ocean. Among the important source of renewable energy is the wind, which is harnessed through wind turbines. When the sun shines, the air above the land heats up expands and rises. This leads to the heavier, cooler air to rush and take its place, creating Winds. The winds then flow over the blades of the windmill or wind turbine to make it rotate. The rotating wind turbine helps in turning the generator that produces the electricity. The wind mill or turbine generates wind power by conversion of wind kinetic energy into mechanical.

Wind Energy is one of the cheapest and cleanest renewable energy sources available and it does not produce air pollution. The wind energy industry has been growing at the rate of 28% a year for the past five years, and if growth trends continue at this pace as is expected, wind capacity will double about every three or four years. Thatís why, the wind turbine investments are all set to rise in the coming years.

Since this was first posted and the economy has faltered the wind turbine industry has also taken a dive. I know since I own a couple of stocks in the wind sector that haven't done well. They are starting now to come back, though.
