TAG Energy Solutions has become one of the first UK companies to join a new renewables sector initiative launched by the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Unveiled at the Clean Energy Ministerial Conference, ‘Norstec’ is a new industry partnership, which brings together key players with an interest in making the most of the North Sea’s renewable energy resource.
More than twenty firms based in several different countries have signed up to a shared vision to create a major new renewable energy power centre in the North Sea and to maximise the significant opportunities that come with it.
Early signatories include major offshore wind developers, manufacturers, as well as a wide range of supply chain companies including TAG Energy Solutions.
The members of the partnership are committed to creating a new renewable energy power centre for Europe in the North Sea and to fully exploit the significant industrial opportunities that will come with this.
This network will come together around the time of RenewableUK’s conference on global offshore wind to discuss in more detail how the new partnership will operate.
Alex Dawson, Chief Executive of TAG Energy Solutions, said: “Norstec brings together key players who recognise the enormous opportunity offered by the North Sea. We are proud to be among the first companies to join this initiative and be one of the representatives of the UK’s offshore renewables supply chain within the network.
“This is a critical time for the industry and this new initiative demonstrates the collaborative attitude that exists in the industry to get the maximum benefit from the resource the North Sea offers. It has tremendous potential to deliver hundreds of gigawatts capacity for secure, clean, renewable power, which will in turn create and sustain thousands of jobs.”
