Sputnik Engineering AG is expanding: Starting in the fourth quarter of 2010 the Swiss company will be supplying the UK with its solar inverters. "The UK has ambitious goals. Our portfolio matches the individual market segments perfectly and we are looking forward to being a major player in this dynamic business," is the reasoning behind the move expressed by Daniel Freudiger , general manager of Sputnik Engineering International AG and head of sales & marketing at the company's Swiss headquarters in Biel.

Sputnik has optimized its devices and meets British standards (Engineering Recommendation G83/1 and G59/2). The products for the UK include the string inverters SolarMax S (with a rated output of 1.8 to 4.6 kilowatts) and SolarMax MT (in the output range of 10 to 15 kilowatts) as well as SolarMax TS central inverters (with rated outputs of 50, 80, 100, 300 and 330 kilowatts). Starting in the 4th quarter of 2010, the parameters for the UK will be integrated into the serial devices.

Until now the share of renewable sources of energy in power production in the UK has been far below the EU average. But now the country wants to catch up. By 2020 the share of renewable sources of energy is supposed to increase to 30 percent. It wants to cut CO2 emissions by 80 percent by 2050. The string inverters and central inverters made by Sputnik can contribute to meeting these goals.

At the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition from 6 to 10 September 2010 in Valencia/Spain, Sputnik Engineering AG will inform visitors in detail about its plans to enter the UK market.
