The Fronius Symo inverter available now
The latest innovation from quality leader Fronius is now available. The compact three-phase inverter boasts maximum flexibility in system design.
The Fronius Symo ensures the highest yields and an optimum symmetrical infeed in the 3.0 kW, 3.7 kW and 4.5 kW power categories. Thanks to the provision of reactive power or voltage support, the grid is supported both statically and dynamically.
Maximum flexibility with a focus on self-consumption
The high system voltage (1000 V), the wide input voltage range (150 to 800 V) and the option of indoor or unrestricted outdoor use guarantee a simple and flexible system design. The Fronius Symo is ideal for stringent requirements of power supply companies and is mainly used in private households, small PV systems and self-consumption systems where 3-phase energy is supplied. An integrated energy management relay also allows system operators to consume more of the energy they generate themselves. The innovative hinged system makes assembly and installation very easy.
System monitoring made easy
The integrated Datalogger, USB stick, LAN and WLAN interfaces, which are fitted as standard, make system monitoring very straightforward. The device offers additional flexibility through its ability to connect to third party components and a variety of interfaces.
WLAN function integrated as standard
The Fronius Symo features a WLAN interface as standard in every device. If no cable is to be installed, or it is not possible to install a cable, then the system data can be transferred via WLAN to the Fronius Solar.web and retrieved using a smartphone (Fronius Solar.web app) or a PC.
Fronius inverters are Smart Grid Ready
“Advanced Grid Features” (AGF) and voltage-dependent power manipulation prevent the inverter from being disabled in the event of a grid overload. This relieves the load on the grid and, at the same time, ensures yield levels are maintained. For this reason, Fronius inverters already satisfy the requirements that will be placed on PV systems in the future. The device has already been honoured with the Plus X Award, the world's biggest innovation prize.
The first systems are already in operation
A PV system generating just short of 5 kWp supplies a modern single-family home in the Upper Austrian village of Niederneukirchen with green electricity. A three-phase Fronius Symo 4.5-3 ensures the highest yields and a stable grid.
The family wants to personally use as much of the energy generated by their PV system as possible and thus reduce its long-term operating costs. “This system enables us to achieve self-consumption figures of up to 30%, depending on the time of year. We chose Fronius inverters as they are top quality Austrian
products and it is particularly important to us that the system operates for a long time without developing any faults,” explains homeowner Robert Reder.
More power categories and two MPP trackers are coming soon
In spring 2014, the Fronius Symo inverter range will be expanded through the addition of higher power categories ranging from 5.0 to 8.2 kW. From that point onwards, all inverters in the series will be equipped with two MPP trackers as standard. More power categories will be available in 2014.
