Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum opens new production and service facilities in Singapore and India.

Singapore, 19th June 2012 – Being close to customers is an important factor to meet the increasing demands of the local markets, also with standardized and fully customized vacuum solutions. Therefore, Leybold Vacuum complements the already existing sales and service network in Asia.

The new premises of Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum Singapore Pte. Ltd., founded in 2000, is located at 8, Commonwealth Lane, and now includes a service center as well as a warehouse. With a size of just over 9,000 sq. ft., it triples the space of the previous locality. With this new service center Leybold Vacuum is now able to service the fore vacuum pumps in house, thus improving on turnaround times and reducing transporting issues. Customers will also benefit from the lean processes of the bigger warehouse as stock keeping and logistics are more effective thereby reducing delivery times and optimizing management, also due to the convenient location nearby PIE & AYE, the major expressways in Singapore. A short distance to Commonwealth MRT station complements the infrastructural advantages. Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum will celebrate the move to this location with the inauguration festivities on June 22nd, 2012.

Similar improvements on customer oriented logistics and proximity will be provided by the new facilities of Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum in Pune, India. Founded in 2005, the opening of the new Centre of Excellence on May 26th, 2012, will further contribute to the growth scenario of Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum in South East Asia, as the location will also serve as a new assembly and service location thus catering to local demands of vacuum technology, engineering and services. The new facility will also have state-of-the-art vacuum gauge calibration facility with national and international traceability, and start offering an improved product range, with the local designing and installation of standardized or fully customized vacuum solutions for customers in India, and other Asian countries.

Together with the recent production capacity increase at the manufacturing site in Tianjin, China, Leybold Vacuum acts on its strategic imperative of customer proximity. Closeness to customers in India and Asia is a crucial factor in increasing the capacity for the overall support of high tech vacuum solutions, but especially for additional performance such as vacuum consulting, engineering, design, software programming, and assembly.
