ib vogt to expand its activities in India

Berlin, 1rst August 2011: German company ib vogt GmbH has been commissioned by Birla Surya Ltd (part of the Yash Birla Group) to provide basic and detailed engineering services for India’s first, and largest integrated facility for the production of photovoltaic cells. The facility will fabricate multicrystalline silicon wafers and process solar photovoltaic cells. After the opening ceremony on 19 June 2011, construction works started officially.

Birla Surya Ltd announced investment of $1.2 billion (RS 5,400 crore) in this project over the next five years, which is located near the village of Rajewadi in Satara, district of Maharashtra. In the first phase the company will set up manufacturing facilities for 60 MWp of multi-crystalline solar photovoltaic cells and 125 MWp of multi-crystalline silicon wafers.

ib vogt continues to expand its activities in the Indian market in collaboration with its subsidiary in Gurgaon, New Delhi (founded 2010). From 10 -12 August 2011 ib vogt will be available to demonstrate their expertise at the 5th Renewable Energy India Expo in New-Delhi, India, booth 11.202.
