Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey to address World Future Energy Summit

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey will on Monday address delegates of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi.
Prime Minister Erdogan’s address is further testament that global leaders now see the World Future Energy Summit as an influential platform to identify and develop practical and sustainable solutions to today’s energy security, environment and climate change challenges.
The World Future Energy Summit, hosted by MASDAR, is a global collaborative platform bringing together world leaders, international policy makers, industry Influencers, investors, academia, thought leaders and journalists from over 130 countries.
Vural Altay, Turkish Ambassador to the U.A.E. commented, "We are very honoured and delighted by the upcoming visit of our Prime Minister His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan and His official delegation to Abu Dhabi to participate in this distinguished and important event. High-level participation from Turkey undeniably underlines the importance that our country attaches to the development of renewable energy resources and its full support for all international initiatives with regard to the promotion and the worlwide uitilization of the clean energy,” said a representative of the Turkish Embassy.
The Turkish Ambassador continued, “In fact, Turkey has massive renewable energy resources, including wind, solar, hydraulic and geothermal sources, that currently make up around 25 percent of the total energy usage in the country and the percentage is expected to increase in very near future. Therefore, we highly appreciate and strongly support the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in the field of renewable energy and wish to see an increasing and fruitful cooperation in this field at bilateral level as well as at a global stage."

The Turkish Prime Minister’s notice of participation in the Summit is the latest in a long list of political leaders that have confirmed their attendance.
The Turkish delegation will also include Mr. Zafer Çaglayan, Minister of State, Mr. Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Finance and Mr. Taner Yildiz, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, along with other delegation members.
Following the decision for the IRENA headquarters to be based in Abu Dhabi, this year’s summit promises to be the most productive to date.
